Lindsay is the 21 year-old daughter of Thomas Burgess and Kelley Smith and sister of Rachel and Haley Smith of Vero Beach, Florida. She is a junior majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Lindsay is a current member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She has also been an active member of the Florida Cicerones since spring 2003 where she has served as t-shirt chair and is currently serving as the Social Chair. This fall, Lindsay was appointed Associate Party Chair of fraternities for Student Government as well. She has participated in Dance Marathon as a dancer since her freshman year and will be a 3-year dancer this April, standing on her feet for a total of 96 hours, benefiting the Children’s Miracle Network. Her past involvement with the Miss University of Florida/ Miss Florida Gator Scholarship Pageant includes participation back stage her freshman year and serving as Director of Special Events and Services last year. Lindsay will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders in May 2006 and hopes to attend Graduate School at the University of Florida and one day become a Speech Pathologist.
