1924 - November Given responsibility for Homecoming and Dad’s Day

1925 - May Reorganized and standards for membership requirements altered.

1929 - November Inauguration of first “Annual Florida Blue Key Homecoming Banquet” 

1933 - Spring Amalgamation with Omicron Delta Kappa

1935 - January Active chapter unanimously voted to remain unaffiliated with any national organization 

1936 - August Florida Blue Key was incorporated under the laws of the State of Florida

1943 - June Activity suspended during World War II

1946 - February Florida Blue Key was reactivated by ten active members who returned to the campus as students

1970 - Spring First black student elected to membership (Mitchell Dasher, II)

1974 - Spring First women students elected to membership (Active members: Nancy Braddock, Susan Lord, Leslie Lott, Marsha Madorsky, and Donna Schmitt. Honorary: Judge Susan Black and retired Dean of Women Mama Brady)

1977 - Spring The appointment by the Chapter of an Alumni Advisory Committee to advise the chapter on important matters concerning its internal operations and on Homecoming

1978 - Spring The Alumni Advisory Committee recommends “reforms” to the Active Chapter which adopts a new Constitution and By-Laws incorporating the alumni’s recommendations

1978 - Spring Election of first black student as president (James Cunningham)

1989 - Fall First woman General Chair of Homecoming (Jennifer Gerkin)

1990 - Fall First woman President of Florida Blue Key (Kelly Geraghty)

1998 - Spring Established the Jason Cherner Award in memory and honor of an outstanding chapter member.

1998 - Fall Second Alumni Commission recommended changes in By-Laws and election to membership which were adopted by the Chapter

2000 - Spring Established the William E. Rion Award to recognize the outstanding graduating member

2006 - Fall Established The O’Connell Society, Alumni Controlled Florida Blue Key Endowment Fund

2007 - Spring Established the Dr. Frank Maturo, Jr. Distinguished Florida Blue Key Alumnus Award in recognition of outstanding service to the Chapter.

2007 - Fall Established Florida Blue Key Alumni Chapters in Jacksonville, Orlando, Tallahassee and Tampa
